Partners with Law Enforcement for Active Shooter Demonstration
(Santa Ana, CA) – On September 30, 2016, Orange County Global Medical Center (OCGMC) joined with local law enforcement and community organizations for National Preparedness Day. This was the third year Orange County GMC hosted the event to provide life-saving information to the public.
This year, Orange County GMC partnered with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department to provide critical training in preparation for a potential active shooter scenario. More than 100 community and staff members participated in the “Run, Hide, Fight” training before participating in a simulated active shooter scenario.
In addition to the active shooter training, Orange County GMC partnered with several local organizations including the Orange County Health Agency, Crime Survivors, Orange County Sheriff’s Department, the Santa Ana Police Department, and more, to provide important information on available emergency services. Fair attendees heard remarks from Commander Stu Greenberg of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, and enjoyed a special helicopter landing from the Sheriff Department’s Search and Rescue helicopter “Duke 1”.
