Santa Ana, CA – Today, Orange County Global Medical Center has announced it has obtained a 5-star rating from Healthgrades for its exceptional performance in Coronary Bypass and Hip Fracture Treatment. This achievement is part of new findings and data released today by Healthgrades and is featured in the Healthgrades 2018 Report to the Nation.
Suzanne Richards, Chief Executive Officer of Orange County Global Medical Center stated, “We are ecstatic our hospital has received such a high distinction in Coronary Bypass, Hip Fracture and Pneumonia Treatment from Healthgrades. Our hospital takes great pride in the work we do and I attribute that to the teamwork between the nurses, physicians, surgeons and hospital staff, for our recognition in these achievements; especially Coronary Bypass four years in a row!”
A 5-star rating indicates that Orange County Global Medical Center’s clinical outcomes are statistically significantly better than expected when treating the condition or performing the procedure being evaluated. For example, from 2014-2016, if all hospitals as a group, performed similarly to hospitals receiving 5 stars as a group, on average 219,568 lives could potentially have been saved and 164,454 complications could possibly have been avoided.
“In an environment where consumers have more choices about where to receive their care, a hospital’s commitment to achieving high-quality outcomes is fundamental,” said Brad Bowman, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Healthgrades. “Because consumers place such value on this information, hospitals that achieve five stars for both Coronary Bypass and Hip Fracture Replacement stand out in their marketplace.”
