As one of the only two Level II Trauma Centers in Orange County, and verified by the American College of Surgeons, our hospital provides unique healthcare services to our community members. Since 1984, with the inception of Orange County’s trauma system, our services have been constantly expanding and improving. We care for any and all patients that need emergency trauma services, and are prepared to care for a wide range of trauma injuries.
The Stroke-Neurology services at Orange County Global Medical Center are unparalleled by local Orange County medical centers. Orange County Global Medical Center recently received certification as a Comprehensive Stoke Center. Comprehensive stroke Center status is the highest level that can be achieved by a stroke care program and we are very proud of this distinction. We are very proud of this distinction. We are one of the lite hospitals and are joined by less than 200 Comprehensive Stroke Centers in the entire nation and 1 of only 4 in Orange County. Our highly-trained stroke team consists of board-certified stroke physicians, interventional neuro-radiologists, neuro-surgeons and other stoke care professionals who are committed to delivering outstanding patient care. While the average age of our patients is primarily 50 years and older, we have treated patients as young as in their early 20s.
We provide a wide range of care and options for our patients, including:

We also provide follow up education for patients and their families in partnership with LEAP.
The Orange County Burn Center is an intensive care private seven-bed unit, staffed by skilled and experienced burn professionals who provide compassionate care vital to a patient’s recovery. Our outpatient burn center works with patients by addressing their short and long-term physical and emotional needs.
Our dedicated team of Physicians, Nurses, Therapists and medical professionals are committed to providing high-level, quality care to our patients while optimizing function and cosmetic outcomes. Utilizing the newest technologies, we strive to minimize pain and get our patients back to a full and functional status, as quickly as possible.

We strive to ensure that our burn survivors are returned to their highest level of function through occupations, physical and speech therapies. We work with local firefighters, paramedics, hospital emergency personnel, insurance carriers as well as public groups and organizations to ensure the highest level of training and education for our burn patients.
Delivery Land™ Maternity Services
For over fifteen years, Orange County Global Medical Center has provided the local community of expecting mothers with comprehensive maternity services. As a Level III Neonatal ICU (NICU), we provide services to help new families with: premature infants (including patients less than 28 weeks), respiratory distress, infants of diabetic mothers, bilirubin issues and others. With new technologies constantly being built into our services, we make sure that even our smallest patients receive inclusive, high-quality care.

Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
We also provide our patients with a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, where newborns and infants are cared for with personalized treatment options and comprehensive plans.
Our NICU includes:
- 16 bed unit
- 24/7 on-site Neonatologist
- Delivery room management by experienced nurses
- Highly trained and experienced Board Certified Physicians
Parents are welcomed in our NICU at all hours (no visiting restrictions for parents).
Orange also have a Laborist Program with Obstetrician in-house coverage from 7pm to 7am every day.
Our Emergency services hold high distinctions, including: Paramedic Receiving Center, Stroke Receiving Center and Cardiac Receiving Center. We serve all patients, from newborns to geriatrics and are equipped to handle all injuries and situations.
Our 24/7 Emergency Services provide patients with the highest quality of care possible, when faced with the unexpected. Our Emergency Room includes: a paramedic receiving station, technological advanced emergency equipment, and highly-trained emergency care specialists.
Our Emergency Department staff members are certified in providing advanced life support and are specially trained in emergency and trauma related incidents. Our facilities also offer interpreter services upon request.

At Orange County Global Medical Center, we are dedicated to promoting the health and independence of our senior patients. Our caring specialist work collaboratively with families and loved ones through integrated programs that offer medical, social, emotional and psychiatric support, unique to the needs of seniors.
According to a 2016 report by the Alzheimer’s Association, 1 in 3 seniors passes away with Alzheimer’s Disease or another form of dementia, each year. This staggering number has further impassioned our hospital’s commitment to advancing the behavioral health resources available for our senior community members. In fact in August of 2017, we re-opened our 12-bed newly remodeled Geropsychiatric Unit, Discoveries. We are very proud to have a dedicated unit to serve all our senior behavioral health patients.
Our senior mental health program physicians and staff members treat patients with a variety of illnesses including mood disorders, acute psychosis, major depression, anxiety and adjustment disorders of ageing and early dementia. Our hospital provides an individualized treatment program for each patient and a variety of approaches such as group, individual, and family counseling. In addition, we provide new and innovative treatment modalities such as music, art, occupational and recreational therapy.
Discoveries is a voluntary program where Medicare-and most health plan are accepted. Our inpatient program serves patients 55 years and older with acute behavioral issues. It includes individualized assessment and treatment planning, therapeutic daily activities and comprehensive discharge planning. The multidisciplinary team includes psychiatrists, internal medicine physicians, psychologists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, a registered nutritionist, physical therapist and a recreational therapist.
At Discoveries, we encourage family members to participate in decision making and discharge planning, as they are crucial to the treatment team and support for the patient. As recently as March of 2016, Orange County Global Medical Center has been updating and improving our cardiology services for our patients. During this time, we opened our second Cardiac Cath Lab, utilizing new state-of-art technology to improve the care we provide. Our STEMI-designated receiving center and comprehensive cardiology services provide patients with a variety of amenities and treatment options.
The Cardiac Catheterization lab includes services such as:
- Left and Right Heart Catheterization
- Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (including Balloon and Stent Placement)
- FFR (Fractional Flow Reserve) Measurements
- IFR (Instant wave free ratio)
- Pacemaker insertion
- Bi-Ventricular Intra Cardiac Defibrillator (Bi V ICD) insertion
- Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) insertion
Electrocardiography and Echocardiography services include:
- Exercise Stress Testing
- Lexiscan Testing
- Stress Echocardiography
Orange County Global Medical Center also provides Perioperative surgery services, inclusive, short and long-term cardiac rehabilitation services and a Coumadin Clinic for patients in need of other cardiac services. Most excitingly, detailed plans are underway to launch an Electrophysiology Program (EP) offering Electrophysiology Studies and Ablation services.
Orange County Global Medical Center’s ICU offers services for young adults to geriatrics such as:
- Open Heart Program

- Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
- Intra-cranial Pressure (ICP) MONITORING
In addition to our ICU services, we provide patients that require less intense care with NDOU & TDOU services, where we care for adult medical & surgical patients. Patients requiring cardiac monitoring, patients with neurological diagnoses, post-op patients, stroke patients, or TBI s/p trauma, as well as patients requiring observation for various reasons.
Our approach to serious orthopedic conditions, injuries and disorders always includes a full evaluation of every aspect of our patients’ health. Extensive testing is conducted to determine the best possible treatment, with the patients’ long-term well-being and recovery as our primary objective.
We provide thorough and comprehensive scans, usually including CAT (CT) scan, X-rays, and in some cases MRI scans, as well as a full evaluation of the body and family health history of each patient. We also offer Total Joint Replacement procedure and Arthroscopic surgeries.
Orange County Global Medical Center is a designated Neurosurgery Receiving Center for Orange County and offers 24/7 care for our patients. Our dedicated specialized team of neurosurgeons and staff are equipped in performing highly specialized surgeries that include treatment of spinal trauma, brain tumors, spontaneous and traumatic Brain or spinal bleeds, as well as brain and spinal vascular pathologies including Aneurysms. We also provide minimally invasive options for patients.
We take a multidisciplinary approach to treating our patients. A team of Physicians, Nurses, Therapists and Social Workers all work to develop and execute adequate and timely treatment options. Once a patient is able to undergo rehabilitation, he or she is assigned the appropriate therapy which may include: speech, occupational, physical and respiratory therapy.
We treat the following conditions:
- Aneurysm, arteriovenous malformations and other vascular pathologies
- Spinal disorders-ruptured disc, stenosis
- Traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries
- Brain tumors
- Peripheral nerve disorders affecting the arms and legs
These comprehensive employee-based services include:
- Monitoring and reducing hospital-acquired infections (HAIs)
- Investigating outbreaks and exposures
- Providing vaccines to employees
Notably, these services have greatly reduced CAUTI and CLABSI infections since 2013, achieved zero surgical site infections (SSIs) in colon and hysterectomy procedures in 2015, and we have increased our influenza vaccination rate among healthcare workers by 10% in the 2015-2016 influenza season.
Bariatrics Surgery Program
As part of the KPC Health Hospital System in Orange County, Orange County Global Medical Center and Chapman Global Medical Center share a unique relationship as sister hospitals. While each hospital in the KPC Health system has its unique set of specialties, the Bariatric Surgery Program is one of many at Chapman Global Medical Center.
